In the Tlingit teaching often called Raven and the Box of Daylight, light itself was once protected inside a cedar box until the right moment arrived. I first heard this story growing up from Tlingit leader and elder Jack Strong. That teaching reminds us that cedar boxes are not simply containers—they are keepers of story, memory, and possibility 🌙
